Exterior: The bright red bodywork has been restored to perfection. The Ferrari 330’s Pininfarina body has many razor-sharp lines. It is easy to see that it was a professional workshop that did the work on this car. Every panel lines up perfectly. The doors, hood and trunk are easy to close and open. The front windscreen is new and all other glass is the original in very good condition. The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 is rolling on a beautiful set of Borrani spoke wheels fitted with my favorite tyre, the Michelin XWX, completing the authentic 1960s sportscar look. The underneath of the Ferrari 330 is as stunning as the top. The series 1 twin headlight configuration gives the car its character. Every chrome detail is perfect and during the restoration every piece of rubber was replaced.

Interior: This Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 has a piano black instrument facia. All the big and clear Veglia instruments are in full working order. A solid row of flip switches with letters that will require the owner’s manual to decode. On your right-hand side of the steering wheel, you conveniently find the overdrive lever and your turn signal on the left, the two most used controls while driving the Ferrari. The soft beige leather has gained just the right amount of patina to make you feel at home in the spacious cabin. Even though there is a spare wheel underneath in the trunk, there is plenty of space for luggage while going Grand Touring in Europe.

Engine and mechanics: As soon as the 3-Weber carburetors are filled up, the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 will fire up immediately and idle nicely and smoothly. The gearbox has a very solid and firm feel going through the gears. The overdrive unit that is basically your fifth gear is very easy to use on this car. You have two newly restored brake boosters helping you to slow down the car with confidence. There are no distracting noises driving this car. It is only pure V12 singing that you are forced to listen to since there is no radio. In the region of 2017-2019, around 60,000 Euro was spent on upgrading the car mechanically. Here are some of the major points.

  • A full engine rebuild including pistons and liners
  • Main and conrod bearings replaced
  • Regrind of the crank
  • Rebuild and set carburetors
  • New engine mounts, fuel hoses, cooling hoses, clamps etc.
  • New valves and valve guides for the head
  • All ignition parts replaced, new water pump etc.

History: This Ferrari 330 GT Series 1 was built by Ferrari in 1964 and two years later sold as a new car in France. Then, in the 90s it made its way to Germany.

  • 1994 The car went through a major restoration by company named Modena Motorsport in Germany. It was hen repainted in the original colour “Rosso Corsa”.
  • 2017-2019 Tim Samways Sporting & Historic Car Engineers made a full restoration of engine. After this, the car has been driven 4,500 km.
  • The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series 1 came to Sweden in 2016 and there have been two owners here.
The car comes with documentation going all the way back to France. The original handbook, spare parts catalog along with exemplary documentation and invoices of work carried out over the years by renowned companies.
